Hadith text

Narrated Al-Bara':The Prophet (ﷺ) delivered the Khutba on the day of Nahr (`Id-ul-Adha) and said, "The first thing we should do on this day of ours is to pray and then return and slaughter (our sacrifices). So anyone who does so he acted according to our Sunna; and whoever slaughtered before the prayer then it was just meat that he offered to his family and would not be considered as a sacrifice in any way. My uncle Abu Burda bin Niyar got up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I slaughtered the sacrifice before the prayer but I have a young she-goat which is better than an older sheep." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Slaughter it in lieu of the first and such a goat will not be considered as a sacrifice for anybody else after you

Al-Bara bataate hain: Nabi ne Yaum-un-Nahr (Eid-ul-Adha) ke din khutba di aur farmaya: "Humein sabse pehle jo karna chahiye woh namaz hai, phir wapas jaakar zabah karna. Jo aisa kare, usne humari Sunnat ke mutabiq amal kiya; aur jisne namaz se pehle zabah kiya, woh sirf gosht hai jo usne apne ghar walon ko diya, ise kisi bhi tarah qurbani nahi mana jayega." Mere chacha Abu Burda bin Niyar khade hue aur kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Maine qurbani namaz se pehle zabah kar li magar mere paas ek jawan bakri hai jo ek purani bhed se behtar hai." Nabi ne farmaya: "Ise pehli ke badle mein zabah kar do, aur aisi bakri tumhare baad kisi aur ke liye qurbani nahi maani jayegi."
