Hadith text

Narrated Fatima bint Al-Mundhir:Asma' bint Abu Bakr said, "I came to `Aisha the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) during the solar eclipse. The people were standing and offering the prayer and she was also praying too. I asked her, 'What has happened to the people?' She pointed out with her hand towards the sky and said, 'Subhan-Allah'. I said, 'Is there a sign?' She pointed out in the affirmative." Asma' further said, "I too then stood up for the prayer till I fainted and then poured water on my head. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had finished his prayer, he thanked and praised Allah and said, 'I have seen at this place of mine what I have never seen even Paradise and Hell. No doubt, it has been inspired to me that you will be put to trial in the graves like or nearly like the trial of (Masih) Ad-Dajjal. (I do not know which one of the two Asma' said.) (The angels) will come to everyone of you and will ask what do you know about this man (i.e. Muhammad). The believer or a firm believer (I do not know which word Asma' said) will reply, 'He is Muhammad, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who came to us with clear evidences and guidance, so we accepted his teachings, believed and followed him.' The angels will then say to him, 'Sleep peacefully as we knew surely that you were a firm believer.' The hypocrite or doubtful person (I do not know which word Asma' said) will say, 'I do not know. I heard the people saying something so I said it (the same)

Fatima bint Al-Mundhir bataati hain: Asma bint Abu Bakr ne kaha: "Main Ayesha (Nabi ki biwi) ke paas surya-grahan ke waqt aayi. Log khade namaz padh rahe the aur woh bhi padh rahi thi. Maine pucha: 'Logon ko kya hua?' Unhone haath se aasman ki taraf ishara kiya aur kaha: 'Subhan-Allah.' Maine pucha: 'Kya koi nishani hai?' Unhone haan mein ishara kiya." Asma ne aage kaha: "Main bhi namaz mein shamil hui yahan tak ke behosh hone ke qareeb ho gayi, phir apne sar par paani daala. Jab Allah ke Rasool ne namaz khatam ki, Allah ka shukr aur hamd ada kiya aur kaha: 'Maine is jagah aisi cheezein dekhi jo maine Jannat aur Dozakh mein bhi kabhi nahi dekhi. Beshak mujhe wahi hui hai ke tumhe qabron mein waisi hi ya usse milti-julti aazmaish di jayegi jaisi (Masih) Ad-Dajjal ki aazmaish hogi (mujhe nahi pata Asma ne kaunsa lafz istemal kiya). (Farishte) tum mein se har ek ke paas aakar poochenge tumhe is shaks (yaani Muhammad) ke baare mein kya pata hai. Momin ya pakka momin (mujhe nahi pata Asma ne kaunsa lafz kaha) jawab dega: 'Yeh Muhammad hain, Allah ke Rasool, jo humare paas roshan daleel aur hidayat le kar aaye, isliye humne unki taleemat qubool ki, iman laaye aur unki pairvi ki.' Farishte usse kahenge: 'Sukoon se so jao, kyunke humein pata tha tum pakka momin the.' Munafiq ya shakki shaks (mujhe nahi pata Asma ne kaunsa lafz kaha) kahega: 'Mujhe nahi pata. Maine logon ko kuch kehte suna to main bhi wahi keh diya.'"
