Book 19: Prayer at Night (Tahajjud) · Hadith 11
Hadith text
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) told me, "The most beloved prayer to Allah is that of David and the most beloved fasts to Allah are those of David. He used to sleep for half of the night and then pray for one third of the night and again sleep for its sixth part and used to fast on alternate days
Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (رضی اللہ عنہما) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool ne mujhse kaha: "Allah ke haan sabse pyari namaz Dawud (علیہ السلام) ki namaz hai, aur sabse pyare roze Dawud ke roze hain. Woh aadhi raat sote, phir raat ke ek-tihai hisse mein namaz padhte aur phir ek-chhathe hisse mein sote, aur woh ek din chhod kar roza rakhte the."
