Book 19: Prayer at Night (Tahajjud) · Hadith 37
Hadith text
Narrated Nafi`:Ibn `Umar said, "In the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) I dreamt that a piece of silk cloth was in my hand and it flew with me to whichever part of Paradise I wanted. I also saw as if two persons (i.e. angels) came to me and wanted to take me to Hell. Then an angel met us and told me not to be afraid. He then told them to leave me. Hafsa narrated one of my dreams to the Prophet (ﷺ) and the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Abdullah is a good man. Would that he offer the night prayer (Tahajjud)!" So after that day `Abdullah (bin `Umar) started offering Tahajjud. The companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to tell him their dreams that (Laila-tul-Qadr) was on the 27th of the month of Ramadan. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I see that your dreams agree on the last ten nights of Ramadan and so whoever is in search of it should seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan
Nafi bataate hain: Ibn Umar ne kaha: "Nabi ke zamane mein maine khwab dekha ke ek resham ka tukda mere haath mein tha aur woh mujhe le kar Jannat ke jis hisse mein main jaana chahta udta gaya. Maine yeh bhi dekha ke do log (yaani farishte) mere paas aaye aur mujhe Dozakh le jaana chahte the, phir ek farishta mila jisne mujhe dar mat kehne ko kaha. Usne unhe mujhe chhodne ko kaha. Hafsa ne mera yeh khwab Nabi ko sunaya, Nabi ne farmaya: 'Abdullah achha shaks hai. Kaash woh raat ki namaz (Tahajjud) padhta!' Isi din se Abdullah (bin Umar) Tahajjud padhne lage." Nabi ke sahaba unhe apne khwab batate ke Laila-tul-Qadr Ramadan ki 27 taareekh ko hai. Nabi ne farmaya: "Mujhe lagta hai tumhare khwab Ramadan ke aakhri das raaton par muttafiq hain, isliye jo bhi ise dhoondhta ho, Ramadan ki aakhri das raaton mein dhoondhe."
