Book 22: Forgetfulness in Prayer · Hadith 14
Hadith text
Narrated `Aisha the wife of the Prophet:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) during his illness prayed in his house sitting, whereas some people followed him standing, but the Prophet (ﷺ) beckoned them to sit down. On completion of the prayer he said, "The Imam is to be followed. So, bow when he bows, and raise your head when he raises his head." (See Hadith No. 657 Vol 1 for taking the verdict)
Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنہا) (Nabi ki biwi) bataati hain: Allah ke Rasool ne apni bimari mein apne ghar mein baithkar namaz padhi, jabke kuch log unke peechhe khade padh rahe the, magar Nabi ne unhe baithne ka ishara kiya. Namaz mukammal karke Aap ne farmaya: "Imam ki pairvi ki jaati hai. Isliye jab woh ruku kare, tum bhi karo, aur jab woh sar utha ta hai, tum bhi utha o."
