Hadith text

Narrated Khabbab:We emigrated with the Prophet (ﷺ) in Allah's cause, and so our reward was then surely incumbent on Allah. Some of us died and they did not take anything from their rewards in this world, and amongst them was Mus`ab bin `Umair; and the others were those who got their rewards. Mus`ab bin `Umair was martyred on the day of the Battle of Uhud and we could get nothing except his Burd to shroud him in. And when we covered his head his feet became bare and vice versa. So the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered us to cover his head only and to put idhkhir (a kind of shrub) over his feet

Khabbab (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Hum Nabi ke saath Allah ki raah mein hijrat kar ke aaye, isliye hamara ajr zaroor Allah par farz hai. Hum mein se kuch mar gaye aur unhone is duniya mein apne ajr se kuch nahi liya, unme Mus'ab bin Umair bhi the; aur baaki woh log the jinhe unka ajr mil gaya. Mus'ab bin Umair Uhud ki jung ke din shaheed hue aur humein unke sirf Burd ke ilawa kuch nahi mila unhe kafan dene ke liye. Jab humne unka sar dhaka to unke paon nange ho jaate, aur ulta. Isliye Nabi ne humein sirf sar dhakne aur paon par Idhkhir (ek qisam ki jhaadi) rakhne ka hukum diya.
