Hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ خَلِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ـ وَهْوَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ـ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ لَمَّا أُصِيبَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ جَعَلَ صُهَيْبٌ يَقُولُ وَاأَخَاهُ. فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَىِّ ".
Narrated Abu Burda:That his father said, "When `Umar was stabbed, Suhaib started crying: O my brother! `Umar said, 'Don't you know that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The deceased is tortured for the weeping of the living'?
Abu Burda bataate hain, apne waalid ke hawale se: Jab Umar ko chhura mara gaya, Suhaib rone lage: "Aye mere bhai!" Umar ne kaha: "Kya tumhe nahi pata ke Nabi ne farmaya: Marhoom ko zinda logon ke rone se saza hoti hai?"
