Sahih al-Bukhari 1305

Hadith text

Narrated Aisha:When the news of the martyrdom of Zaid bin Haritha, Ja`far and `Abdullah bin Rawaha came, the Prophet sat down looking sad, and I was looking through the chink of the door. A man came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The women of Ja`far," and then he mentioned their crying . The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to stop them from crying. The man went and came back and said, "I tried to stop them but they disobeyed." The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him for the second time to forbid them. He went again and came back and said, "They did not listen to me, (or "us": the sub-narrator Muhammad bin Haushab is in doubt as to which is right). " (`Aisha added: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Put dust in their mouths." I said (to that man), "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. humiliate you)." By Allah, you could not (stop the women from crying) to fulfill the order, besides you did not relieve Allah's Apostle from fatigue

Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنہا) bataati hain: Jab Zaid bin Haritha, Jafar aur Abdullah bin Rawaha ki shahadat ki khabar aayi, Nabi baith gaye aur udaas dikhne lage, aur main darwaze ki daraar se dekh rahi thi. Ek shaks aaya aur kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Jafar ki aurtein," aur unke rone ka zikar kiya. Nabi ne use unhe rokne ka hukum diya. Woh shaks gaya aur wapas aakar kaha: "Maine unhe rokne ki koshish ki magar unhone meri baat nahi maani." Nabi ne dobara unhe rokne ka hukum diya. Woh phir gaya aur wapas aakar kaha: "Unhone meri (ya humari, raawi Muhammad bin Haushab ko yaqeen nahi kaunsa sahi hai) baat nahi maani." (Ayesha ne joda:) Nabi ne kaha: "Unke muh mein mitti daalo." Maine (us shaks se) kaha: "Allah tumhari naak mitti mein rakhe." Allah ki qasam, tum na (aurton ko rokne ka) hukum poora kar sake, na Allah ke Rasool ko takleef se bacha sake.
