Sahih al-Bukhari 1337

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:A black person, a male or a female used to clean the Mosque and then died. The Prophet (ﷺ) did not know about it . One day the Prophet (ﷺ) remembered him and said, "What happened to that person?" The people replied, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! He died." He said, "Why did you not inform me?" They said, "His story was so and so (i.e. regarded him as insignificant)." He said, "Show me his grave." He then went to his grave and offered the funeral prayer

Abu Huraira (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek kaale (mard ya aurat) masjid saaf kiya karta tha aur intiqal kar gaya. Nabi ko iska pata nahi tha. Ek din Nabi ko unki yaad aayi aur pucha: "Us shaks ka kya hua?" Logon ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Unka intiqal ho gaya." Aap ne pucha: "Tumne mujhe kyun nahi bataya?" Unhone kaha: "Unki kahani aisi-aisi thi (yaani unhe ahmiyat nahi di)." Aap ne farmaya: "Mujhe unki qabar dikhao." Aap unki qabar par gaye aur namaz-e-janaza padhi.
