Sahih al-Bukhari 1350

Hadith text

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to `Abdullah bin Ubai (a hypocrite) after his death and he had been laid in his pit (grave). He ordered (that he be taken out of the grave) and he was taken out. Then he placed him on his knees and threw some of his saliva on him and clothed him in his (the Prophet's) own shirt. Allah knows better (why he did so). `Abdullah bin Ubai had given his shirt to Al-Abbas to wear. Abu Harun said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at that time had two shirts and the son of `Abdullah bin Ubai said to him, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Clothe my father in your shirt which has been in contact with your skin.' ' Sufyan added, "Thus people think that the Prophet (ﷺ) clothed `Abdullah bin Ubai in his shirt in lieu of what he (Abdullah) had done (for Al-`Abbas, the Prophet's uncle)

Jabir bin Abdullah (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool Abdullah bin Ubai (ek munafiq) ke paas unki maut ke baad gaye, jabke unhe unki qabar mein rakha ja chuka tha. Aap ne (unhe qabar se bahar nikaalne ka) hukum diya aur unhe bahar nikaala gaya. Phir Aap ne unhe apne ghutnon par rakha aur unpar apna thook chhidka, aur unhe apni qamees pehnayi. Allah behtar jaanta hai (kyun aisa kiya). Abdullah bin Ubai ne apni qamees Abbas ko pehnne ke liye di thi. Abu Harun bataate hain: Us waqt Allah ke Rasool ke paas do qamiseen thin, aur Abdullah bin Ubai ke bete ne unse kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Mere baap ko apni woh qamees pehna dijiye jo aapki jild se laga chuki hai." Sufyan ne joda: "Isliye log samajhte hain ke Nabi ne Abdullah bin Ubai ko apni qamees usne (Al-Abbas, Nabi ke chacha, ke liye) jo kiya tha uske badle mein pehnayi."
