Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat) · Hadith 23
Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Which charity is the most superior in reward?" He replied, "The charity which you practice while you are healthy, niggardly and afraid of poverty and wish to become wealthy. Do not delay it to the time of approaching death and then say, 'Give so much to such and such, and so much to such and such.' And it has already belonged to such and such (as it is too late)
Abu Huraira (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek shaks Nabi ke paas aaya aur pucha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Kaunsa sadqa ajr mein sabse behtareen hai?" Aap ne jawab diya: "Woh sadqa jo tum tab do jab tum tandurust ho, kanjoosi mehsoos karte ho, gareebi se darte ho aur maldaar bane rehna chahte ho. Ise us waqt tak taal na do jab maut qareeb ho aur phir kaho: 'Falaan ko itna do, falaan ko itna do,' jabke woh maal to us waqt tak falaan-falaan ka ho hi chuka hoga (kyunke ab tum us par ikhtiyar nahi rakhte)."
