Hadith text
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:Once the Prophet (ﷺ) sat on a pulpit and we sat around him. Then he said, "The things I am afraid of most for your sake (concerning what will befall you after me) is the pleasures and splendors of the world and its beauties which will be disclosed to you." Somebody said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Can the good bring forth evil?" The Prophet (ﷺ) remained silent for a while. It was said to that person, "What is wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he is not talking to you." Then we noticed that he was being inspired divinely. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) wiped off his sweat and said, "Where is the questioner?" It seemed as if the Prophet (ﷺ) liked his question. Then he said, "Good never brings forth evil. Indeed it is like what grows on the banks of a water-stream which either kill or make the animals sick, except if an animal eats its fill the Khadira (a kind of vegetable) and then faces the sun, and then defecates and urinates and grazes again. No doubt this wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor, the orphans and to needy travelers. (Or the Prophet said something similar to it) No doubt, whoever takes it illegally will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and his wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection
Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek baar Nabi mimbar par baithe aur hum unke aas-paas baithe. Aap ne farmaya: "Jo cheez mujhe tumhare liye sabse zyada khauf dilati hai (tumhare baad mein hone wale haalaat ke baare mein) woh duniya ki khushiyaan aur uski chamak-damak hain jo tumhare saamne khol di jaayengi." Kisi ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Kya achhi cheez se bura nikal sakta hai?" Nabi khamosh rahe. Us shaks se kaha gaya: "Tumhe kya hua? Tum Nabi se baat kar rahe ho jabke Aap tumse baat nahi kar rahe." Phir humne dekha unpar wahi utar rahi hai. Nabi ne apna paseena poncha aur pucha: "Sawaal karne wala kahan hai?" Lagta tha Nabi ko uska sawaal pasand aaya. Phir Aap ne farmaya: "Achhi cheez se bura nahi nikalta. Beshak yeh (duniyawi maal) uski tarah hai jo nadi ke kinare ugta hai jo ya to janwaron ko maar deta hai ya bimar kar deta hai, siwaye us janwar ke jo pet bhar Khadira (ek qisam ki sabzi) khaake, suraj ki taraf mun karke, phir peshab-paakhana karke phir se charne lagta hai. Beshak yeh maal meetha aur hara-bhara hai. Mubarak hai woh Musalman ka maal jisse woh gareebon, yateemon aur zaroorat-mand musafiron ko deta hai." (Ya Nabi ne isse milti-julti baat kahi.) "Beshak, jo bhi ise ghair-qanooni tareeqe se leta hai, woh us shaks jaisa hai jo khaata hai magar kabhi santusht nahi hota, aur uska maal Qiyamat ke din uske khilaaf gawah banega."
