Hadith text

Narrated Sa`d (bin Abi Waqqas):Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) distributed something (from the resources of Zakat) amongst a group of people while I was sitting amongst them, but he left a man whom I considered the best of the lot. So, I went up to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and asked him secretly, "Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Or merely a Muslim (Who surrender to Allah)." I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. " The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Or merely a Muslim." I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Or merely a Muslim." Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "I give to a person while another is dearer to me, for fear that he may be thrown in the Hell-fire on his face (by reneging from Islam)

Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool ne kuch (Zakat ke maal mein se) kuch logon mein taqseem kiya jabke main unme baitha tha, magar Aap ne ek shaks ko chhod diya jise main sabse achha samajhta tha. Isliye main Allah ke Rasool ke paas gaya aur khufia tor par pucha: "Aapne usse kyun chhoda? Allah ki qasam, main use momin samajhta hoon." Nabi ne farmaya: "Ya sirf Musalman (jo Allah ke saamne surrender kar chuka ho)." Main thodi der khamosh raha magar apna sawaal dohraye bina na rah saka, kyunke mujhe uske baare mein jo pata tha uski wajah se. Maine kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Aapne usse kyun chhoda? Allah ki qasam, main use momin samajhta hoon." Nabi ne farmaya: "Ya sirf Musalman." Main thodi der khamosh raha magar apna sawaal dohraye bina na rah saka. Maine kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Aapne usse kyun chhoda? Allah ki qasam, main use momin samajhta hoon." Nabi ne farmaya: "Ya sirf Musalman." Phir Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: "Main ek shaks ko deta hoon jabke doosra mujhe zyada pyara hota hai, is dar se ke kahin woh (Islam se murtad hokar) chehre ke bal Dozakh mein na daala jaaye."
