Hadith text

Narrated `Ali:We have nothing except the Book of Allah and this written paper from the Prophet (wherein is written:) Medina is a sanctuary from the 'Air Mountain to such and such a place, and whoever innovates in it an heresy or commits a sin, or gives shelter to such an innovator in it will incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, none of his compulsory or optional good deeds of worship will be accepted. And the asylum (of protection) granted by any Muslim is to be secured (respected) by all the other Muslims; and whoever betrays a Muslim in this respect incurs the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and none of his compulsory or optional good deeds of worship will be accepted, and whoever (freed slave) befriends (take as masters) other than his manumitters without their permission incurs the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and none of his compulsory or optional good deeds of worship will be accepted

Ali (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Humare paas Allah ki Kitaab aur Nabi ka yeh likha hua kaghaz ke siwa kuch nahi hai (jisme likha hai): Madina haram hai Air pahad se falaan-falaan jagah tak, aur jo isme bid'at laaye ya gunah kare, ya aise bid'at karne wale ko panah de, uspar Allah, farishton aur sab logon ki laanat hai, na uska koi farz na nafil neik amal qubool hoga. Aur jo Musalman kisi ko panah de, use sab doosre Musalmanon ko mehfooz rakhna chahiye; aur jo koi Musalman ko isme dhoka de, uspar Allah, farishton aur sab logon ki laanat hai, aur na uska koi farz na nafil neik amal qubool hoga. Aur jo (azaad kiya gulaam) apne azaad karne walon ki ijazat ke bina kisi doosre ko apna hami banaaye, uspar Allah, farishton aur sab logon ki laanat hai, aur na uska koi farz na nafil neik amal qubool hoga.
