Hadith text

Narrated Mutarrif from `Imran Ibn Husain:That the Prophet (ﷺ) asked him (Imran) or asked a man and `Imran was listening, "O Abu so-and-so! Have you fasted the last days of this month?" (The narrator thought that he said, "the month of Ramadan"). The man replied, "No, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "When you finish your fasting (of Ramadan) fast two days (in Shawwal)." Through another series of narrators `Imran said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, '(Have you fasted) the last days of Sha'ban?

Mutarrif, Imran Ibn Husain ke hawale se: Nabi ne unse (Imran se) pucha, ya kisi shaks se pucha jabke Imran sun rahe the, "Aye Abu falaan! Kya tumne is mahine ke aakhri din roza rakha?" (Raawi ko laga unhone kaha "Ramadan ke mahine ke"). Shaks ne jawab diya: "Nahi, Ya Allah ke Rasool!" Nabi ne unse kaha: "Jab tum apna roza (Ramadan ka) khatam kar lo, to (Shawwal mein) do din roza rakho." Ek doosri riwayat mein Imran ne kaha: "Nabi ne kaha: '(Kya tumne roza rakha) Sha'ban ke aakhri dinon mein?'"
