Narrated 'Ubaid bin `Umair:Abu Musa asked `Umar to admit him but he was not admitted as `Umar was busy, so Abu Musa went back. When `Umar finished his job he said, "Didn't I hear the voice of `Abdullah bin Qais? Let him come in." `Umar was told that he had left. So, he sent for him and on his arrival, he (Abu Musa) said, "We were ordered to do so (i.e. to leave if not admitted after asking permission thrice). `Umar told him, "Bring witness in proof of your statement." Abu Musa went to the Ansar's meeting places and asked them. They said, "None amongst us will give this witness except the youngest of us, Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri. Abu Musa then took Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (to `Umar) and `Umar said, surprisingly, "Has this order of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) been hidden from me?" (Then he added), "I used to be busy trading in markets

Ubaid bin Umair bataate hain: Abu Musa ne Umar se andar aane ki ijazat maangi magar unhe ijazat nahi mili kyunke Umar masroof the, isliye Abu Musa wapas chale gaye. Jab Umar apna kaam khatam kar chuke, unhone kaha: "Kya maine Abdullah bin Qais ki aawaaz nahi suni? Use andar aane do." Umar ko bataya gaya ke woh chale gaye hain. Isliye unhone unhe bulwaya, aur (Abu Musa) aane par, unhone (Umar se) kaha: "Humein aisa karne ka hukum diya gaya hai (yaani teen baar ijazat maangne ke baad, agar andar aane ki ijazat na mile, to chale jaana)." Umar ne unse kaha: "Apni baat ke liye gawah laao." Abu Musa Ansaar ki majlison mein gaye aur unse pucha. Unhone kaha: "Hum mein se koi yeh gawahi nahi dega siwaye humare sabse jawan shaks, Abu Saeed Al-Khudri ke." Abu Musa phir Abu Saeed Al-Khudri ko (Umar ke paas) le gaye, aur Umar ne hairat se kaha: "Kya Allah ke Rasool ka yeh hukum mujhse chhupa raha?" (Phir unhone joda) "Main bazaaron mein tijarat mein masroof rehta tha."
