Book 34: Sales and Trade · Hadith 62
Hadith text
Narrated Ibn `Umar:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The seller and the buyer have the option of canceling or confirming the deal unless they separate, or one of them says to the other, 'Choose (i.e. decide to cancel or confirm the bargain now)." Perhaps he said, 'Or if it is an optional sale.' " Ibn `Umar, Shuraih, Ash-Shu`bi, Tawus, Ata, and Ibn Abu Mulaika agree upon this judgment
Ibn Umar (رضی اللہ عنہما) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: "Bechne aur khareedne wale ko saudebaazi radd ya poori karne ka ikhtiyaar hai jab tak woh alag na ho jaayen, ya ek doosre se kahe: 'Chuno' (yaani abhi faisla karo, saudebaazi radd karni hai ya poori)." Shayad unhone kaha: "Ya agar yeh ikhtiyaari bikri ho." Ibn Umar, Shuraih, Ash-Shu'bi, Tawus, Ata, aur Ibn Abu Mulaika is faisle par muttafiq hain.
