Hadith text

Narrated Jabir:`Abdullah bin `Amr bin Haram died and was in debt to others. I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) to intercede with his creditors for some reduction in the debts. The Prophet (ﷺ) requested them (to reduce the debts) but they refused. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Go and put your dates (In heaps) according to their different kinds. The Ajwa on one side, the cluster of Ibn Zaid on another side, etc.. Then call me." I did that and called the Prophet (ﷺ) He came and sat at the head or in the middle of the heaps and ordered me. Measure (the dates) for the people (creditors)." I measured for them till I paid all the debts. My dates remained as if nothing had been taken from them. In other narrations, Jabir said; The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He (i.e. `Abdullah) continued measuring for them till he paid all the debts." The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to `Abdullah), "Cut (clusters) for him (i.e. one of the creditors) and measure for him fully

Jabir (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram ka intiqal hua aur unpar doosron ka qarz tha. Maine Nabi se guzarish ki ke woh unke qarzdaaar logon se kuch chhoot (kami) ke liye sifarish karein. Nabi ne unse guzarish ki magar unhone inkaar kiya. Nabi ne mujhse kaha: "Jaao aur apni khajooren (dher mein) unki alag-alag qisamon ke mutabiq rakho. Ajwa ek taraf, Ibn Zaid ka gucchha doosri taraf, waghera. Phir mujhe bulao." Maine aisa kiya aur Nabi ko bulwaya. Aap aaye aur dheron ke sar ya beech mein baithe aur mujhe hukum diya: "(Khajoor) logon (qarz-daaaron) ke liye naap." Maine unke liye naapa jab tak sab qarz ada nahi ho gaya. Meri khajooren waisi hi rahi jaise koi kami hi nahi hui. Doosri riwayaton mein, Jabir ne kaha: Nabi ne kaha: "Unhone (yaani Abdullah ne) unke liye tab tak naapa jab tak poora qarz ada nahi ho gaya." Nabi ne (Abdullah se) kaha: "Iske liye (yaani ek qarz-daaar ke liye) kaat do aur poori naap kar do."
