Sahih al-Bukhari 2218

Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas and 'Abu bin Zam`a quarreled over a boy. Sa`d said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This boy is the son of my brother (`Utba bin Abi Waqqas) who took a promise from me that I would take him as he was his (illegal) son. Look at him and see whom he resembles." 'Abu bin Zam`a said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This is my brother and was born on my father's bed from his slave-girl." Allah's Apostle cast a look at the boy and found definite resemblance to `Utba and then said, "The boy is for you, O 'Abu bin Zam`a. The child goes to the owner of the bed and the adulterer gets nothing but the stones (despair, i.e. to be stoned to death). Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Sauda bint Zama! Screen yourself from this boy." So, Sauda never saw him again

Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنہا) bataati hain: Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas aur Abu bin Zam'a ek ladke ke baare mein jhagde. Sa'd ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Yeh ladka mere bhai (Utba bin Abi Waqqas) ka beta hai, jinhone mujhse waada liya tha ke main use lunga kyunke woh unka (haraam) beta tha. Ise dekhiye aur dekhiye woh kiske jaisa dikhta hai." Abu bin Zam'a ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Yeh mera bhai hai aur mere waalid ki laundi ka beta hai jo unke bistar par paida hua." Allah ke Rasool ne ladke ki taraf dekha aur usme Utba se saaf mel dekha, phir kaha: "Yeh ladka tumhara hai, Aye Abu bin Zam'a. Bachcha bistar wale ka hota hai (yaani jiske bistar par paida hua), aur zina karne wale ke liye sirf patthar (na-ummidi)." Phir Nabi ne kaha: "Aye Sauda bint Zama! Is ladke se parda karo." Isliye Sauda ne use phir kabhi nahi dekha.
