Narrated Salama bin Al-Akwa: Once, while we were sitting in the company of Prophet, a dead man was brought. The Prophet (ﷺ) was requested to lead the funeral prayer for the deceased. He said, "Is he in debt?" The people replied in the negative. He said, "Has he left any wealth?" They said, "No." So, he led his funeral prayer. Another dead man was brought and the people said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Lead his funeral prayer." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Is he in debt?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Has he left any wealth?" They said, ''Three Dinars." So, he led the prayer. Then a third dead man was brought and the people said (to the Prophet (ﷺ) ), Please lead his funeral prayer." He said, "Has he left any wealth?" They said, "No." He asked, "Is he in debt?" They said, ("Yes! He has to pay) three Dinars.', He (refused to pray and) said, "Then pray for your (dead) companion." Abu Qatada said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Lead his funeral prayer, and I will pay his debt." So, he led the prayer
Salama bin Al-Akwa bataate hain: Ek baar, jabke hum Nabi ki sohbat mein baithe the, ek murda shaks laaya gaya. Nabi se guzarish ki gayi ke woh marhoom ki namaz-e-janaza padhaen. Aap ne pucha: "Kya uspar qarz tha?" Logon ne na mein jawab diya. Aap ne pucha: "Kya usne koi maal chhoda?" Unhone kaha: "Nahi." Isliye Aap ne unki namaz-e-janaza padhaee. Ek doosra murda laaya gaya aur logon ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Iski namaz-e-janaza padhaiye." Nabi ne pucha: "Kya uspar qarz tha?" Unhone haan mein jawab diya. Aap ne pucha: "Kya usne koi maal chhoda?" Unhone kaha: "Teen Dinar." Isliye Aap ne namaz padhaee. Phir ek teesra murda laaya gaya aur logon ne (Nabi se) kaha, "Kripya iski namaz-e-janaza padhaiye." Aap ne pucha: "Kya usne koi maal chhoda?" Unhone kaha: "Nahi." Aap ne pucha: "Kya uspar qarz tha?" Unhone kaha: ("Haan! Usne) teen Dinar (chukane hain).' Aap ne (namaz padhane se inkaar karke) kaha: "Phir apne (marhoom) sathi ki namaz khud padho." Abu Qatada ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Iski namaz-e-janaza padhaiye, aur main uska qarz ada karunga." Isliye Aap ne namaz padhaee.
