Hadith text
Narrated Hudhaifa:I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Once a man died and was asked, 'What did you use to say (or do) (in your life time)?' He replied, 'I was a businessman and used to give time to the rich to repay his debt and (used to) deduct part of the debt of the poor.' So he was forgiven (his sins.)" Abu Mas`ud said, "I heard the same (Hadith) from the Prophet
Hudhaifa (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Maine Nabi ko farmate suna: "Ek baar ek shaks mar gaya aur usse pucha gaya: 'Tum kya kehte (ya karte) the (apni zindagi mein)?' Usne jawab diya: 'Main ek vyapaari tha aur maldaar ko apna qarz chukane ke liye waqt deta tha, aur gareeb ke qarz ka kuch hissa maaf kar deta tha.' Isliye usse maaf kar diya gaya (uske gunah)." Abu Mas'ud ne kaha: "Maine yehi (hadith) Nabi se suni."
