Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:When Allah gave victory to His Apostle over the people of Mecca, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up among the people and after glorifying Allah, said, "Allah has prohibited fighting in Mecca and has given authority to His Apostle and the believers over it, so fighting was illegal for anyone before me, and was made legal for me for a part of a day, and it will not be legal for anyone after me. Its game should not be chased, its thorny bushes should not be uprooted, and picking up its fallen things is not allowed except for one who makes public announcement for it, and he whose relative is murdered has the option either to accept a compensation for it or to retaliate." Al-`Abbas said, "Except Al-Idhkhir, for we use it in our graves and houses." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Except Al-Idhkhir." Abu Shah, a Yemenite, stood up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Abu Huraira (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Jab Allah ne apne Rasool ko Mecca walon par fatah di, Allah ke Rasool logon ke beech khade hue aur Allah ki hamd-sana ke baad kaha: "Allah ne Mecca mein jung ko haram kiya hai aur apne Rasool aur momino ko usme ikhtiyaar diya hai, isliye mujhse pehle kisi ke liye isme jung karna jaiz nahi tha, aur mere liye ek din ke kuch hisse ke liye jaiz kiya gaya, aur mere baad kisi ke liye jaiz nahi hoga. Iske shikaar ka picha nahi karna chahiye, iski kaante wali jhaadiyan nahi ukhadni chahiye, aur iski giri hui cheezein uthana jaiz nahi siwaye us shaks ke jo iskaa public elaan kare, aur jiske rishtedaar ka qatl ho jaaye, use ikhtiyaar hai ya to khoon-baha qubool kare ya badla le." Al-Abbas ne kaha: "Siwaye Al-Idhkhir ke, kyunke hum ise apni qabron aur gharon mein istemal karte hain." Allah ke Rasool ne kaha: "Siwaye Al-Idhkhir ke." Abu Shah, ek Yemeni, khade hue aur kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Mere liye ise likhwa dijiye." Allah ke Rasool ne kaha: "Abu Shah ke liye likh do." (Doosre raawi ne Al-Auza'i se pucha: "'Ise likhwa dijiye, Ya Allah ke Rasool' ka kya matlab tha?" Unhone jawab diya: "Woh khutba jo usne Allah ke Rasool se suna.")
