Hadith text

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid:A bedouin asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the Luqata. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Make public announcement about it for one year and if then somebody comes and describes the container of the Luqata and the string it was tied with, (give it to him); otherwise, spend it." He then asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about a lost camel. The face of the Prophet (ﷺ) became red and he said, "You have no concern with it as it has its water reservoir and feet and it will reach water and drink and eat trees. Leave it till its owner finds it." He then asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about a lost sheep. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It is for you, for your brother, or for the wolf

Zaid bin Khalid (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek dehati ne Nabi se Luqata ke baare mein pucha. Nabi ne kaha: "Iska ek saal tak public elaan karo aur agar koi aakar Luqata ke bartan aur uski baandhne wali dhage ka bayaan sahi kare, (use de do); warna use kharch karo." Phir usne Nabi se ek gum-shuda unt ke baare mein pucha. Nabi ka chehra laal ho gaya aur unhone kaha: "Tumhara isse koi ta'aluq nahi kyunke uske paas apna paani ka bharosa aur apne paon hain, aur woh paani tak pahunch kar pi lega aur darakht kha lega. Phir usne Nabi se ek gum-shuda bhed ke baare mein pucha. Nabi ne kaha: "Woh tumhare liye hai, tumhare bhai ke liye, ya bhediye ke liye."
