Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A man felt very thirsty while he was on the way, there he came across a well. He went down the well, quenched his thirst and came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. He said to himself, "This dog is suffering from thirst as I did." So, he went down the well again and filled his shoe with water and watered it. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him. The people said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He replied: "Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate (living being)." (See Hadith No)
Abu Huraira (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Nabi ne farmaya: "Ek shaks ko safar mein bahut zyada pyaas lagi, aur usne ek kua paaya. Woh kue mein utar kar apni pyaas bujhai aur bahar aaya. Isi dauran usne ek kutta dekha jo haafte hue mitti chaat raha tha bahut zyada pyaas ki wajah se. Usne khud se kaha: 'Yeh kutta wahi museebat mein hai jismein main tha.' Isliye woh phir kue mein utara aur apni juti mein paani bhara aur use paani pilaya. Allah ne uski is neki ka shukriya ada kiya aur use maaf kar diya." Logon ne pucha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Kya janwaron ki khidmat karne ka humein bhi ajr milta hai?" Aap ne jawab diya: "Haan, kisi bhi zinda mahluk ki khidmat karne ka ajr milta hai."
