Sahih al-Bukhari 2484

Hadith text

Narrated Salama:Once (on a journey) our provisions diminished and the people were reduced to poverty. They went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked his permission to slaughter their camels, and he agreed. `Umar met them and they told him about it, and he said, "How would you survive after slaughtering your camels?" Then he went to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How would they survive after slaughtering their camels?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered `Umar, "Call upon the people to bring what has remained of their food." A leather sheet was spread and all the food was collected and heaped over it. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up and invoked Allah to bless it, and then directed all the people to come with their utensils, and they started taking from it till all of them got what was sufficient for them. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said, "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I am His Messenger

Salama (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek baar (safar mein) humara raashan kam ho gaya aur log gareebi mein aa gaye. Woh Nabi ke paas gaye aur apne unton ko zabah karne ki ijazat maangi, aur unhone maan liya. Umar unse mile aur unhone use bataya, aur unhone kaha: "Apne unton ko zabah karne ke baad tum kaise zinda rahoge?" Phir woh Nabi ke paas gaye aur kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Apne unton ko zabah karne ke baad woh kaise zinda rahenge?" Allah ke Rasool ne Umar ko hukum diya: "Logon ko bulao ke woh apna bacha hua khaana laayen." Ek chamde ki chadar bichhaee gayi aur sab khaana jama karke uspar dher kiya gaya. Allah ke Rasool khade hue aur isme barkat ke liye Allah se dua ki, phir sab logon ko apne bartan lekar aane ka hukum diya, aur woh usse lene lage jab tak sabko unki zaroorat ke mutabiq mil gaya. Allah ke Rasool ne phir kaha: "Main gawahi deta hoon ke Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahi, aur main uska Rasool hoon."
