Hadith text
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Who would kill Ka`b bin Al-Ashraf as he has harmed Allah and His Apostle ?" Muhammad bin Maslama (got up and) said, "I will kill him." So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to Ka`b and said, "I want a loan of one or two Wasqs of food grains." Ka`b said, "Mortgage your women to me." Muhammad bin Maslama said, "How can we mortgage our women, and you are the most handsome among the Arabs?" He said, "Then mortgage your sons to me." Muhammad said, "How can we mortgage our sons, as the people will abuse them for being mortgaged for one or two Wasqs of food grains? It is shameful for us. But we will mortgage our arms to you." So, Muhammad bin Maslama promised him that he would come to him next time. They (Muhammad bin Maslama and his companions came to him as promised and murdered him. Then they went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him about it
Jabir bin Abdullah (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: "Kaun Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf ko qatl karega kyunke usne Allah aur uske Rasool ko nuqsaan pahunchaya hai?" Muhammad bin Maslama ne (uthkar) kaha: "Main use qatl karunga." Isliye Muhammad bin Maslama Ka'b ke paas gaye aur kaha: "Mujhe ek ya do Wasq khaane ki cheezon ka qarz chahiye." Ka'b ne kaha: "Apni aurton ko mere paas girvi rakho." Muhammad bin Maslama ne kaha: "Hum apni aurton ko kaise girvi rakh sakte hain, jabke tum Arbon mein sabse khoobsurat ho?" Usne kaha: "Phir apne beton ko mere paas girvi rakho." Muhammad ne kaha: "Hum apne beton ko kaise girvi rakh sakte hain, kyunke log unhe taane marenge ke unhe ek ya do Wasq khaane ki cheez ke liye girvi rakha gaya hai? Yeh humare liye sharam ki baat hai. Magar hum apne hathiyaar tumhare paas girvi rakh sakte hain." Isliye Muhammad bin Maslama ne usse waada kiya ke woh agli baar unke paas aayenge. (Muhammad bin Maslama aur unke sathi waade ke mutabiq unke paas aaye aur unhe qatl kar diya. Phir woh Nabi ke paas gaye aur unhe iske baare mein bataya.)
