Hadith text
Narrated 'Aishah (ra) that Barira came to seek her help in writing of emancipation and she had to pay five Uqiya (of gold) by five yearly installments. 'Aishah said to her, "Do you think that if I pay the whole sum at once, your masters will sell you to me, and I will free you and your Wala' will be for me." Barira went to her masters and told them about that offer. They said that they would not agree to it unless her Wala' would be for them. 'Aishah further said, "I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and told him about it." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to her, "Buy Barira and manumit her and the Wala' will be for the liberator." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then got up and said, "What about those people who stipulate conditions that are not present in Allah's Laws? If anybody stipulates a condition which is not in Allah's Laws, then what he stipulates is invalid. Allah's Condition (Laws) are the truth and are more solid
Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنہا) bataati hain: Barira unse madad maangne aayi apni azaadi ke muahide (mukatiba) ke liye jismein use paanch Uqiya (sona) paanch saalana kiston mein ada karni thi. Ayesha ne unse kaha: "Kya tumhe lagta hai agar main poori raqam ek saath ada kar dun, tumhare maalik tumhe mujhe bech denge, aur main tumhe azaad kar dungi, aur tumhara Wala mera hoga?" Barira apne maalikon ke paas gayi aur unhe yeh pesh kash bataee. Unhone kaha ke woh isse raazi nahi honge jab tak unka Wala unhi ke paas rahe. Ayesha ne aage kaha: "Main Allah ke Rasool ke paas gayi aur unhe iske baare mein bataya." Allah ke Rasool ne unse kaha: "Barira ko khareedo aur azaad karo, aur Wala azaad karne wale ka hoga." Phir Allah ke Rasool khade hue aur kaha: "Un logon ka kya kahna jo aisi sharten lagate hain jo Allah ke qanoon mein maujood nahi? Agar koi aisi shart lagata hai jo Allah ke qanoon mein nahi, to uski shart batil hai. Allah ki sharten (qanoon) haqq hain aur zyada mazboot hain."
