Hadith text

Narrated `Abdul Wahid bin Aiman:I went to `Aisha and said, "I was the slave of `Utba bin Abu Lahab. "Utba died and his sons became my masters who sold me to Ibn Abu `Amr who manumitted me. The sons of `Utba stipulated that my Wala' should be for them." `Aisha said, "Barirah came to me and she was given the writing of emancipation by her masters and she asked me to buy and manumit her. I agreed to it, but Barirah told me that her masters would not sell her unless her Wala' was for them." `Aisha said, "I am not in need of that." When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard that, or he was told about it, he asked `Aisha about it. `Aisha mentioned what Barirah had told her. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Buy and manumit (free) her and let them stipulate whatever they like." So, `Aisha bought and manumitted her and her masters stipulated that her Wala' should be for them." The Prophet;, said, "The Wala' will be for the liberator even if they stipulated a hundred conditions

Abdul Wahid bin Aiman bataate hain: Main Ayesha ke paas gaya aur kaha: "Main Utba bin Abu Lahab ka gulaam tha. Utba ka intiqal hua aur unke bete mere maalik ban gaye jinhone mujhe Ibn Abu Amr ko bech diya jinhone mujhe azaad kar diya. Utba ke beto ne shart rakhi ke mera Wala unhi ke paas rahega." Ayesha ne kaha: "Barira mere paas aayi aur uske maalikon ne unhe azaadi ka muahida diya tha aur usne mujhse unhe khareedne aur azaad karne ki guzarish ki. Maine iske liye raazi ho gayi, magar Barira ne mujhe bataya ke uske maalik use tab tak nahi bechenge jab tak uska Wala unhi ke paas rahe." Ayesha ne kaha: "Mujhe isse koi zaroorat nahi thi." Jab Nabi ne yeh suna, ya unhe iske baare mein bataya gaya, unhone Ayesha se iske baare mein pucha. Ayesha ne unhe woh bataya jo Barira ne unse kaha tha. Nabi ne kaha: "Ise khareedo aur azaad karo, aur unhe jo bhi shart chahiye lagane do." Isliye Ayesha ne unhe khareeda aur azaad kiya aur unke maalikon ne shart rakhi ke Wala unhi ke paas rahega. Nabi ne kaha: "Wala azaad karne wale ka hoga chahe woh sau sharten lagaen."
