Sahih al-Bukhari 2598

Hadith text

Narrated Jabir:The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "I will give you so much (the Prophet (ﷺ) pointed thrice with his hands) when funds of Bahrain will come to me." But the Prophet (ﷺ) died before the money reached him. (When it came) Abu Bakr ordered an announcer to announce that whoever had a money claim on the Prophet (ﷺ) or was promised to be given something, should come to Abu Bakr. I went to Abu Bakr and told him that the Prophet (ﷺ) had promised to give me so much. On that Abu Bakr gave me three handfuls (of money)

Jabir bataate hain: Nabi ne mujhse kaha: "Main tumhe itna dunga (Nabi ne apne haathon se teen baar ishara kiya) jab Bahrain ka paisa mere paas aayega." Magar Nabi ka intiqal ho gaya paisa pahunchne se pehle. (Jab woh aaya) Abu Bakr ne ek elaan karne wale ko hukum diya ke elaan kare ke jiska bhi Nabi par koi paisa ka daawa hai, ya jise kuch dene ka waada kiya gaya tha, Abu Bakr ke paas aaye. Main Abu Bakr ke paas gaya aur unhe bataya ke Nabi ne mujhse itna dene ka waada kiya tha. Isspar Abu Bakr ne mujhe teen mutthiyan (paisa ki) di.
