Hadith text
Narrated An-Nu`man bin Bashir:My mother asked my father to present me a gift from his property; and he gave it to me after some hesitation. My mother said that she would not be satisfied unless the Prophet (ﷺ) was made a witness to it. I being a young boy, my father held me by the hand and took me to the Prophet (ﷺ) . He said to the Prophet, "His mother, bint Rawaha, requested me to give this boy a gift." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do you have other sons besides him?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not make me a witness for injustice." Narrated Ash-Shu`bi that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I will not become a witness for injustice
An-Nu'man bin Bashir bataate hain: Meri maa ne mere waalid se apni jaidad se mujhe ek tohfa dene ki guzarish ki; aur unhone kuch hichkichaahat ke baad mujhe woh diya. Meri maa ne kaha ke woh santusht nahi hongi jab tak Nabi ko iska gawaah na banaya jaaye. Main ek jawan ladka tha, mere waalid mera haath pakadkar mujhe Nabi ke paas le gaye. Unhone Nabi se kaha: "Iski maa, bint Rawaha, ne mujhse guzarish ki ke main is ladke ko yeh tohfa dun." Nabi ne pucha: "Kya iske ilawa tumhare aur bete hain?" Unhone kaha: "Haan." Nabi ne kaha: "Mujhe na-insaafi ka gawaah mat banao." Ash-Sha'bi ke hawale se ke Nabi ne kaha: "Main na-insaafi ka gawaah nahi banunga."
