Hadith text
Narrated Abu Bakra:A man praised another man in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) . The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Woe to you, you have cut off your companion's neck, you have cut off your companion's neck," repeating it several times and then added, "Whoever amongst you has to praise his brother should say, 'I think that he is so and so, and Allah knows exactly the truth, and I do not confirm anybody's good conduct before Allah, but I think him so and so,' if he really knows what he says about him
Abu Bakra (رضی اللہ عنہ) bataate hain: Ek shaks ne Nabi ke saamne doosre shaks ki taareef ki. Nabi ne unse kaha: "Tumpar afsos, tumne apne sathi ki gardan kaat di, tumne apne sathi ki gardan kaat di," kai baar dohrate huye, phir joda: "Jise bhi apne bhai ki taareef karni ho, use kehna chahiye, 'Mujhe lagta hai woh aisa-aisa hai, aur Allah behtar jaanta hai,' aur main Allah ke saamne kisi ke achhe kirdaar ki gawahi nahi de sakta, magar mujhe lagta hai woh aisa hai,' agar usse waaqai pata hai jo woh keh raha hai."
