Hadith text
Narrated Aiman Al-Makki:When I visited Aisha she said, "Barirah who had a written contract for her emancipation for a certain amount came to me and said, "O mother of the believers! Buy me and manumit me, as my masters will sell me." Aisha agreed to it. Barirah said, 'My masters will sell me on the condition that my Wala will go to them." Aisha said to her, 'Then I am not in need of you.' The Prophet (ﷺ) heard of that or was told about it and so he asked Aisha, 'What is the problem of Barirah?' He said, 'Buy her and manumit her, no matter what they stipulate.' Aisha added, 'I bought and manumitted her, though her masters had stipulated that her Wala would be for them.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, The Wala is for the liberator, even if the other stipulated a hundred conditions
Aiman Al-Makki bataate hain: Jab main Ayesha se milne gaya, unhone kaha: "Barira, jinka apni azaadi ke liye ek khaas raqam ka muahida likha gaya tha, mere paas aayi aur kaha: 'Aye Momino ki maa! Mujhe khareedo aur azaad karo, kyunke mere maalik mujhe bech dete.' Ayesha iske liye raazi ho gayin." Barira ne kaha: "Mere maalik mujhe is shart par bechenge ke mera Wala unhi ke paas rahega." Ayesha ne unse kaha: "Phir mujhe tumhari zaroorat nahi." Nabi ne yeh suna ya unhe bataya gaya, isliye unhone Ayesha se pucha: "Barira ka kya masla hai?" Aap ne kaha: "Ise khareedo aur azaad karo, chahe woh jo bhi shart rakhen." Ayesha ne kaha: "Maine ise khareeda aur azaad kiya, chahe uske maalikon ne shart rakhi thi ke Wala unhi ke paas rahega." Nabi ne kaha: "Wala azaad karne wale ka hota hai, chahe doosra sau sharten hi kyun na lagaye."
