Narrated Az-Zuhri:`Urwa said, "Aisha told me that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to examine the women emigrants. We have been told also that when Allah revealed the order that the Muslims should return to the pagans what they had spent on their wives who emigrated (after embracing Islam) and that the Muslims should not keep unbelieving women as their wives, `Umar divorced two of his wives, Qariba, the daughter of Abu Umayyah and the daughter of Jarwal Al-Khuza`i. Later on Mu`awiya married Qariba and Abu Jahm married the other." When the pagans refused to pay what the Muslims had spent on their wives, Allah revealed: "And if any of your wives have gone from you to the unbelievers and you have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side) (then pay to those whose wives have gone) the equivalent of what they had spent (on their Mahr)." (60.11) So, Allah ordered that the Muslim whose wife has gone, should be given, as a compensation of the Mahr he had given to his wife, from the Mahr of the wives of the pagans who had emigrated deserting their husbands. We do not know any of the women emigrants who deserted Islam after embracing it. We have also been told that Abu Basir bin Asid Ath-Thaqafi came to the Prophet (ﷺ) as a Muslim emigrant during the truce. Al-Akhnas bin Shariq wrote to the Prophet (ﷺ) requesting him to return Abu Basir

Az-Zuhri bataate hain: Urwa ne kaha, "Ayesha ne mujhe bataya ke Allah ke Rasool imandaar aurat hijraton ki jaanch karte the." Humein yeh bhi bataya gaya ke jab Allah ne yeh hukum nazil kiya ke Musalman kaafiron ko unka woh kharch wapas karen jo unhone apni biwiyon par kiya tha jo (Islam qubool karke) hijrat kar chuki thi, aur Musalmanon ko kaafir aurton ko biwi ke tor par na rakhna chahiye, Umar ne apni do biwiyon ko talaq de di, Qariba (Abu Umayya ki beti) aur Jarwal Al-Khuza'i ki beti. Baad mein Muawiya ne Qariba se shaadi ki aur Abu Jahm ne doosri se. Jab kaafiron ne Musalmanon ka apni biwiyon par kiya hua kharch dene se inkaar kiya, Allah ne yeh nazil ki: "Aur agar tumhari kisi biwi ne tumhe chhodkar kaafiron ki taraf jaane ka faisla kiya ho aur tumhe (badle mein aane wali) mile (yaani doosri taraf se koi aurat aaye), to unhe unka mehar wapas do jo unhone (Mahr par) kharch kiya tha" (60:11). Isliye Allah ne hukum diya ke jis Musalman ki biwi chali gayi ho, use uske Mahr ke badle mua'wza diya jaaye us Mahr se jo kaafir aurton ka tha jo apne shohar chhodkar hijrat kar chuki thi. Humein aisi koi Musalman aurat nahi maalum jisne Islam qubool karne ke baad hijrat chhod di ho. Humein yeh bhi bataya gaya ke Abu Basir bin Asid Ath-Thaqafi ek Musalman hijrat karke Nabi ke paas sulha ke dauran aaye. Al-Akhnas bin Shariq ne Nabi ko khat likha aur Abu Basir ko wapas karne ki guzarish ki.
