Sahih al-Bukhari 2827

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira: I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) while he was at Khaibar after it had fallen in the Muslims' hands. I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Give me a share (from the land of Khaibar)." One of the sons of Sa'id bin Al-'As said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Do not give him a share." I said, "This is the murderer of Ibn Qauqal." The son of Sa`id bin Al-As said, "Strange! A Wabr (i.e. guinea pig) who has come down to us from the mountain of Qadum (i.e. grazing place of sheep) blames me for killing a Muslim who was given superiority by Allah because of me, and Allah did not disgrace me at his hands (i.e. was not killed as an infidel)." (The sub-narrator said "I do not know whether the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him a share or not

Abu Huraira bataate hain: Main Allah ke Rasool ke paas gaya jabke woh Khaibar mein the, Musalmanon ke haath aane ke baad. Maine kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe (Khaibar ki zameen se) hissa dijiye." Sa'id bin Al-As ke beton mein se ek ne kaha: "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Ise hissa mat dijiye." Maine kaha: "Yeh Ibn Qauqal ka qaatil hai." Sa'id bin Al-As ke bete ne kaha: "Ajeeb baat hai! Ek Wabr (guinea pig) jo Qadum pahad se (yaani charaee ki jagah se) humare paas aaya hai, mujhpar ek Musalman ke qatl ka ilzaam lagata hai jise Allah ne mere zariye izzat di, aur Allah ne mujhe uske haathon se rusva nahi kiya (yaani woh kaafir ke tor par maara nahi gaya)." (Doosre raawi ne kaha: "Mujhe nahi pata Nabi ne unhe hissa diya ya nahi.")
