Sahih al-Bukhari 2907

Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Bu'ath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, i.e. Khazraj and Aus, before Islam.) The Prophet (ﷺ) reclined on the bed and turned his face to the other side. Abu Bakr came and scolded me and said protestingly, "Instrument of Satan in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I waved the two girls to go away and they left. It was the day of `Id when negroes used to play with leather shields and spears. Either I requested Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) or he himself asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then he let me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on, O Bani Arfida (i.e. negroes)!" When I got tired, he asked me if that was enough. I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave

Ayesha bataati hain: Allah ke Rasool mere ghar aaye jabke do ladkiyaan mere paas Bu'ath ke geet gaa rahi thi (Ansaar ke do qabilon, Khazraj aur Aus, ke beech Islam se pehle ki jung ki kahani). Nabi bistar par lete aur apna chehra doosri taraf mod liya. Abu Bakr aaye aur mujhe daanta aur ehtiraaz karte huye kaha, "Shaitaan ka saaz Allah ke Rasool ki maujoodgi mein?" Allah ke Rasool ne apna chehra unki taraf mod kar kaha, "Unhe chhod do." Jab Abu Bakr ka dhyaan hat gaya, maine do ladkiyon ko ishare se jaane ko kaha aur woh chali gaee. Yeh Eid ka din tha jab kaale log chamde ki dhalon aur bharcho ke saath khelte the. Ya to maine Allah ke Rasool se guzarish ki ya unhone khud mujhse pucha kya main yeh tamaasha dekhna chahungi. Maine haan mein jawab diya. Phir unhone mujhe apne peeche khade hone diya aur mera gaal unke gaal se chhu raha tha aur woh keh rahe the, "Jaari rakho, Aye Bani Arfida (yaani kaale log)!" Jab main thak gayi, unhone pucha kya itna kaafi hai. Maine haan mein jawab diya aur unhone mujhe jaane ko kaha.
