Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The Prophet (ﷺ) , while in a tent (on the day of the battle of Badr) said, "O Allah! I ask you the fulfillment of Your Covenant and Promise. O Allah! If You wish (to destroy the believers) You will never be worshipped after today." Abu Bakr caught him by the hand and said, "This is sufficient, O Allah's Apostle! You have asked Allah pressingly." The Prophet (ﷺ) was clad in his armor at that time. He went out, saying to me: "Their multitude will be put to flight and they will show their backs. Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense) and that Hour will be more grievous and more bitter (than their worldly failure)." (54.45-46) Khalid said that was on the day of the battle of Badr

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Nabi ne, ek khaime mein (Badr ki jung ke din), kaha, "Aye Allah! Main tujhse Tere ahad aur waade ki poorti maangta hoon. Aye Allah! Agar tu chahe (imandaron ko barbaad karna), tujhe aaj ke baad kabhi ibadat nahi ki jaayegi." Abu Bakr ne unka haath pakada aur kaha, "Yeh kaafi hai, Aye Allah ke Rasool! Aapne Allah se bade zor se maanga hai." Nabi us waqt apna zire pehne hue the. Woh bahar gaye, mujhse kehte huye: "Unki bheed harigi aur woh peeth dikhaenge. Balki, Qiyamat unke liye muqarrar waqt hai (poori saza ke liye), aur woh waqt zyada dukhad aur karva hoga (unki duniyawi haar se)" (54:45-46). Khalid ne kaha yeh Badr ki jung ke din hua.
