Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The example of a miser and the one who gives in charity, is like the example of two men wearing iron cloaks so tightly that their arms are raised forcibly towards their collar-bones. So, whenever a charitable person wants to give in charity, his cloak spreads over his body so much so that it wipes out his traces, but whenever the miser wants to give in charity, the rings (of the iron cloak) come closer to each other and press over his body, and his hands get connected to his collarbones. Abu Huraira bataate hain: Nabi ne farmaya: "Kanjoos aur sadqa dekar wale ki misaal do logon jaisi hai jinhone lohe ke choge pehne hue hain, itne tang ke unke haath zabardasti unke gale ki haddiyon ki taraf uthe hue hain. Isliye jab bhi sadqa dekar shaks sadqa dena chahta hai, uska choga uske jism par is tarah phailta hai ke uske nishaan tak mit jate hain, magar jab bhi kanjoos sadqa dena chahta hai, (lohe ke choge ki) kadiyan ek-doosre ke qareeb aa jati hain aur uske jism par dabaav daalti hain, aur uske haath uske gale ki haddiyon se judd jate hain." Abu Huraira ne Nabi ko kehte suna, "Kanjoos phir ise phailane ki koshish karta hai magar be-faida."
