Narrated `Ikrima:`Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn `Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him

Ikrima bataate hain: Ali ne kuch logon ko jala diya aur yeh khabar Ibn Abbas tak pahunchi, jinhone kaha, "Agar main unki jagah hota, main unhe kabhi na jalata, kyunke Nabi ne kaha, 'Allah ki tarah saza mat do (yaani aag se saza mat do).' Beshak, main unhe qatl karta, kyunke Nabi ne kaha, 'Agar koi (Musalman) apna deen chhod de, use qatl kar do.'"
