Hadith text
Narrated Salim Abu An-Nadr: (the freed slave of 'Umar bin 'Ubaidullah) I was Umar's clerk. Once Abdullah bin Abi Aufa wrote a letter to 'Umar when he proceeded to Al-Haruriya. I read in it that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in one of his military expeditions against the enemy, waited till the sun declined and then he got up amongst the people saying, "O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords." Then he said, "O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book, and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of the clans, defeat them, and grant us victory over them
Salim Abu An-Nadr (Umar bin Ubaidullah ka azaad kiya gulaam) bataate hain: Main Umar ka lipik tha. Ek baar Abdullah bin Abi Aufa ne Umar ko ek khat likha jab woh Al-Haruriya ki taraf ja rahe the. Maine usme padha ke Allah ke Rasool ne ek fauji muhim ke dauran dushman ke khilaf, intezaar kiya jab tak suraj dhal gaya aur phir woh logon ke beech khade hue aur kaha, "Aye logo! Dushman se milne ki khwahish mat karo, aur Allah se apni surakshaa maango, magar jab tumhe dushman ka saamna karna pade, sabr karo, aur yaad rakho ke Jannat talwaron ke saaye ke neeche hai." Phir unhone kaha, "Aye Allah! Paak Kitaab ke naazil karne wale, baadlon ke chalane wale, aur qabilon ko haar dene wale, unhe haar de, aur humein unpar fatah de."
