Hadith text

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Umar and a group of the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) set out with the Prophet to Ibn Saiyad. He found him playing with some boys near the hillocks of Bani Maghala. Ibn Saiyad at that time was nearing his puberty. He did not notice (the Prophet's presence) till the Prophet (ﷺ) stroked him on the back with his hand and said, "Ibn Saiyad! Do you testify that I am Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Ibn Saiyad looked at him and said, "I testify that you are the Apostle of the illiterates." Then Ibn Saiyad asked the Prophet. "Do you testify that I am the apostle of Allah?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "I believe in Allah and His Apostles." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said (to Ibn Saiyad). "What do you see?" Ibn Saiyad replied, "True people and false ones visit me." The Prophet said, "Your mind is confused as to this matter." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, " I have kept something (in my mind) for you." Ibn Saiyad said, "It is Ad-Dukh." The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to him), "Shame be on you! You cannot cross your limits." On that 'Umar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Allow me to chop his head off." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If he should be him (i.e. Ad-Dajjal) then you cannot overpower him, and should he not be him, then you are not going to benefit by murdering him

Ibn Umar bataate hain: Umar aur Nabi ke sahaba ke ek giroh Nabi ke saath Ibn Saiyad ke paas gaye. Unhone use Bani Maghala ki chhoti pahadiyon ke qareeb kuch ladkon ke saath khelte paaya. Ibn Saiyad us waqt baalig hone ke qareeb tha. Usne (Nabi ki maujoodgi) mahsoos nahi ki jab tak Nabi ne apne haath se uski peeth par thapthapaee, aur kaha, "Ibn Saiyad! Kya tum gawahi dete ho ke main Allah ka Rasool hoon?" Ibn Saiyad ne unki taraf dekha aur kaha, "Main gawahi deta hoon ke aap un-padhon ke Rasool hain." Phir Ibn Saiyad ne Nabi se pucha, "Kya aap gawahi dete hain ke main Allah ka Rasool hoon?" Nabi ne unse kaha, "Main Allah aur uske Rasoolon par iman rakhta hoon." Phir Nabi ne (Ibn Saiyad se) pucha, "Tum kya dekhte ho?" Ibn Saiyad ne jawab diya, "Sacche aur jhute log mere paas aate hain." Nabi ne kaha, "Tumhaara dimaag is maamle mein uljha hua hai." Nabi ne joda, "Maine (apne dimaag mein) tumhare liye kuch rakha hai." Ibn Saiyad ne kaha, "Yeh Ad-Dukh hai." Nabi ne (usse) kaha, "Sharam ho tujhpar! Tum apni seema se aage nahi jaa sakte." Isspar Umar ne kaha, "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe ijazat dijiye ke main iska sar kaat dun." Nabi ne kaha, "Agar yeh wahi (yaani Dajjal) hai, tum ise haar nahi de sakoge, aur agar yeh wahi nahi hai, isse qatl karne ka koi faayda nahi."
