Hadith text
Narrated Abu Mulaika:Ibn `Umar used to kill snakes, but afterwards he forbade their killing and said, "Once the Prophet (ﷺ) pulled down a wall and saw a cast-off skin of a snake in it. He said, 'Look for the snake. 'They found it and the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Kill it." For this reason I used to kill snakes. Later on I met Abu Lubaba who told me the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Do not kill snakes except the short-tailed or mutilated-tailed snake with two white lines on its back, for it causes abortion and makes one blind. So kill it
Abu Mulaika bataate hain: Ibn Umar saanp qatl karte the, magar baad mein unhone inhe qatl karna mana kar diya aur kaha, "Ek baar Nabi ne ek deewaar giraee aur usmein ek saanp ki chhodi hui khaal dekhi. Unhone kaha, 'Saanp ko dhoondo.' Unhone use paaya aur Nabi ne kaha, 'Ise qatl karo.' Isi wajah se main saanp qatl karta tha. Baad mein main Abu Lubaba se mila jinhone mujhe bataya ke Nabi ne kaha, 'Saanp mat qatl karo siwaye choti ya kati hui poonch wale saanp (yaani Abtar) ke jiski peeth par do safed lakiraan hoti hain, kyunke woh garbhpaat karva sakta hai aur andha bhi kar sakta hai. Isliye ise qatl karo.'"
