Sahih al-Bukhari 3334

Hadith text

Narrated Anas:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah will say to that person of the (Hell) Fire who will receive the least punishment, 'If you had everything on the earth, would you give it as a ransom to free yourself (i.e. save yourself from this Fire)?' He will say, 'Yes.' Then Allah will say, 'While you were in the backbone of Adam, I asked you much less than this, i.e. not to worship others besides Me, but you insisted on worshipping others besides me

Anas bataate hain: Nabi ne kaha, "Allah Dozakh wale us shaks se kahega jise sabse kam saza milegi, 'Agar tumhare paas zameen ki har cheez hoti, kya tum use apni azaadi ke fidya ke tor par de dete (yaani is aag se khud ko bachane ke liye)?' Woh kahega, 'Haan.' Phir Allah kahega, 'Jabke tum Aadam ki peeth mein the, maine tumse isse bhi kam maanga tha, yaani mere siwa kisi aur ki ibadat na karna, magar tumne zid ki aur mere siwa doosron ki ibadat ki.'"
