Sahih al-Bukhari 3368

Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:(The wife of the Prophet) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to her). "Don't you see that when your folk built the Ka`ba, they did not build it on all the foundations built by Abraham?" I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why don't we rebuild it on the foundations of Abraham?" He said. "But for the fact that your folk have recently given up infidelity (I would have done so). Narrated Ibn `Umar: Aisha must have heard this from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for I see that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used not to touch the two corners facing Al-Hijr only because the House had not been built on the foundations of Abraham

Ayesha bataati hain: Allah ke Rasool ne (unse) kaha, "Kya tum nahi dekhti ke jab tumhare logon ne Ka'ba banaya, unhone ise Ibrahim ki dwara banaee gaee sab neenvon par nahi banaya?" Maine kaha, "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Hum ise Ibrahim ki neenvon par phir se kyun nahi banate?" Unhone kaha, "Agar yeh baat na hoti ke tumhare log haal hi mein kufr chhode hain (main aisa kar deta)." Ibn Umar bataate hain: Ayesha ne yeh Allah ke Rasool se zaroor suna hoga, kyunke main dekhta hoon ke Allah ke Rasool Al-Hijr ki taraf wale do konon ko nahi chhute the sirf isliye kyunke Ghar Ibrahim ki neenvon par nahi banaya gaya tha.
