Sahih al-Bukhari 3408

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:A Muslim and a Jew quarreled. The Muslim taking an oath, said, "By Him Who has preferred Muhammad over all people...!" The Jew said, "By Him Who has preferred Moses, over all people." The Muslim raised his hand and slapped the Jew who came to the Prophet (ﷺ) to tell him what had happened between him and the Muslim. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Don't give me superiority over Moses, for the people will become unconscious (on the Day of Resurrection) and I will be the first to gain consciousness to see Moses standing and holding a side of Allah's Throne. I will not know if he has been among those people who have become unconscious; and that he has gained consciousness before me, or he has been amongst those whom Allah has exempted

Abu Huraira bataate hain: Ek Musalman aur ek Yahudi mein jhagda hua. Musalman ne qasam khakar kaha, "Us Zaat ki qasam jisne Muhammad ko sab logon par superiority di...!" Yahudi ne kaha, "Us Zaat ki qasam jisne Musa ko sab logon par superiority di." Musalman ne apna haath uthaya aur Yahudi ko thapad maara. Yahudi Nabi ke paas gaya unhe batane jo unke aur Musalman ke beech hua. Nabi ne kaha, "Mujhe Musa se superiority mat do, kyunke log behosh ho jaayenge (Qiyamat ke din) aur main sabse pahle hosh mein aunga taake dekhun Musa khade hue Allah ke Arsh ke ek kone ko pakde hue. Mujhe nahi pata kya woh un logon mein the jo behosh hue the; aur kya unhe mujhse pahle hosh aee, ya woh un logon mein the jinhe Allah ne mukt kar diya."
