Sahih al-Bukhari 3415

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:Once while a Jew was selling something, he was offered a price that he was not pleased with. So, he said, "No, by Him Who gave Moses superiority over all human beings!" Hearing him, an Ansari man got up and slapped him on the face and said, "You say: By Him Who Gave Moses superiority over all human beings although the Prophet (Muhammad) is present amongst us!" The Jew went to the Prophet and said, "O Abu-l-Qasim! I am under the assurance and contract of security, so what right does so-and-so have to slap me?" The Prophet (ﷺ) asked the other, "Why have you slapped". He told him the whole story. The Prophet (ﷺ) became angry, till anger appeared on his face, and said, "Don't give superiority to any prophet amongst Allah's Prophets, for when the trumpet will be blown, everyone on the earth and in the heavens will become unconscious except those whom Allah will exempt. The trumpet will be blown for the second time and I will be the first to be resurrected to see Moses holding Allah's Throne. I will not know whether the unconsciousness which Moses received on the Day of Tur has been sufficient for him, or has he got up before me. And I do not say that there is anybody who is better than Yunus bin Matta

Abu Huraira bataate hain: Ek baar jab ek Yahudi kuch bech raha tha, use ek aisi qeemat pesh ki gaee jisse woh khush nahi tha. Isliye unhone kaha, "Nahi, us Zaat ki qasam jisne Musa ko sab insaanon par superiority di!" Yeh sunkar, ek Ansaar shaks utha aur unhe thapad maara aur kaha, "Tum kehte ho: Us Zaat ki qasam jisne Musa ko sab insaanon par superiority di, jabke Nabi (Muhammad) hamare beech maujood hain!" Yahudi Nabi ke paas gaya aur kaha, "Aye Abul-Qasim! Main aapki panah mein hoon aur amaan-samjhaute ke tehat hoon, isliye falaan ko mujhe thapad marne ka kya haqq hai?" Nabi ne doosre shaks se pucha, "Tumne use thapad kyun maara?" Usne unhe poori kahani sunaee. Nabi naraaj ho gaye, jab tak unke chehre par gusse ke asaraat dikhne lage, aur kaha, "Allah ke Nabiyon mein se kisi ko doosre se superiority mat do, kyunke jab pahli baar singa phoonka jaayega, zameen aur aasman ke sab log behosh ho jaayenge siwaye un logon ke jinhe Allah bachaega. Phir doosri baar singa phoonka jaayega aur main sabse pahle hosh mein aunga Musa ko dekhne, Allah ke Arsh ko pakde hue. Mujhe nahi pata kya Musa ko mila hua behoshi Tur (pahad) wala kaafi tha (isliye woh Qiyamat ki behoshi se bach gaye), ya woh mujhse pahle hosh mein aae. Aur main nahi kehta ke koi bhi Yunus bin Matta se behtar hai."
