Sahih al-Bukhari 3436

Hadith text

Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "None spoke in cradle but three: (The first was) Jesus, (the second was), there was a man from Bani Israel called Juraij. While he was offering his prayers, his mother came and called him. He said (to himself), 'Shall I answer her or keep on praying?" (He went on praying) and did not answer her. His mother said, "O Allah! Do not let him die till he sees the faces of prostitutes." So while he was in his hermitage, a lady came and sought to seduce him, but he refused. So she went to a shepherd and presented herself to him to commit illegal sexual intercourse with her and then later she gave birth to a child and claimed that it belonged to Juraij. The people, therefore, came to him and dismantled his hermitage and expelled him out of it and abused him. Juraij performed the ablution and offered prayer, and then came to the child and said, 'O child! Who is your father?' The child replied, 'The shepherd.' (After hearing this) the people said, 'We shall rebuild your hermitage of gold,' but he said, 'No, of nothing but mud.'(The third was the hero of the following story) A lady from Bani Israel was nursing her child at her breast when a handsome rider passed by her. She said, 'O Allah ! Make my child like him.' On that the child left her breast, and facing the rider said, 'O Allah! Do not make me like him.' The child then started to suck her breast again. (Abu Huraira further said, "As if I were now looking at the Prophet (ﷺ) sucking his finger (in way of demonstration.") After a while the people passed by, with a lady slave and she (i.e. the child's mother) said, 'O Allah! Do not make my child like this (slave girl)!, On that the child left her breast and said, 'O Allah! Make me like her.' When she asked why, the child replied, 'The rider is one of the tyrants while this slave girl is falsely accused of theft and illegal sexual intercourse

Abu Huraira bataate hain: Nabi ne kaha, "Kisi ne palne mein baat nahi ki siwaye teen ke: (Pahle) Isa; (doosre), Bani Israel mein ek shaks tha jise Juraij kaha jata tha. Jabke woh namaz padh rahe the, unki maa aee aur unhe pukara. Unhone (apne aap se) socha, 'Kya main unhe jawab dun ya namaz padhta rahoon?' (Woh namaz padhte rahe) aur jawab nahi diya. Unki maa ne kaha, 'Aye Allah! Ise tab tak mat marne de jab tak yeh beshva aurton ke chehre na dekh le.' Isliye jabke woh apni kuti mein the, ek aurat aee aur unhe bhatkane ki koshish ki, magar unhone inkaar kiya. Isliye woh ek charwahe ke paas gaee aur usse na-jaiz sambandh banaya, aur baad mein ek bachche ko janm diya aur daava kiya ke woh Juraij ka hai. Log unke paas aaye, unki kuti gira di aur unhe wahaan se nikal diya aur unhe gaaliyaan diya. Juraij ne wudu kiya aur namaz padhi, aur phir bachche ke paas aaye aur pucha, 'Aye bachche! Tumhara baap kaun hai?' Bachche ne jawab diya, 'Charwaha.' (Yeh sunkar) logon ne kaha, 'Hum tumhari kuti sona se banaenge,' magar unhone kaha, 'Nahi, mitti ke siwa kuch nahi.'" (Teesra kissa yeh hai:) Bani Israel ki ek aurat apne bachche ko doodh pila rahi thi jab ek khoobsurat ghudsawaar unke paas se guzra. Usne kaha, 'Aye Allah! Mere bachche ko unke jaisa bana.' Isspar bachche ne doodh chhod diya, aur ghudsawaar ki taraf mudkar kaha, 'Aye Allah! Mujhe unke jaisa mat bana.' Bachche ne phir doodh peena shuru kiya. (Abu Huraira ne aage kaha, "Mano abhi bhi main Nabi ko apni ungli chuste dekh raha hoon (yeh dikhane ke liye).") Thoda der baad log ek daasi ke saath guzre aur usne (yaani bachche ki maa ne) kaha, 'Aye Allah! Mere bachche ko is (daasi) jaisa mat bana!' Isspar bachche ne doodh chhod diya aur kaha, 'Aye Allah! Mujhe uske jaisa bana.' Jab usne pucha kyun, bachche ne jawab diya, 'Ghudsawaar zaalimon mein se ek tha jabke yeh daasi ke oopar chori aur galat sambandh ka jhuta ilzaam hai.'"
