Hadith text
Narrated Jabir:My father had died in debt. So I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "My father (died) leaving unpaid debts, and I have nothing except the yield of his date palms; and their yield for many years will not cover his debts. So please come with me, so that the creditors may not misbehave with me." The Prophet (ﷺ) went round one of the heaps of dates and invoked (Allah), and then did the same with another heap and sat on it and said, "Measure (for them)." He paid them their rights and what remained was as much as had been paid to them
Jabir bataate hain: Mere waalid ka intiqal qarz chhodkar hua. Isliye main Nabi ke paas gaya aur kaha, "Mere waalid ne (intiqal karte waqt) qarz chhoda hai, aur mere paas unke khajoor ke darakhton ki paidawaar ke siwa kuch nahi hai; aur kaee saal ki paidawaar bhi unka qarz poora nahi karegi. Isliye kripya mere saath chaliye, taake qarzdaar mere saath bura suluk na karen." Nabi khajoor ke ek dher ke chaaron taraf ghume aur dua ki, phir doosre dher ke saath bhi wahi kiya aur uspar baith gaye aur kaha, "(Unke liye) naapo." Unhone unka poora haqq ada kiya, aur jo bacha woh utna hi tha jitna unhe diya gaya tha.
