Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said. "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Shall we make a pulpit for you?" He replied, "If you wish." So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The datepalm cried like a child! The Prophet (ﷺ) descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quietened. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it
Jabir bin Abdullah bataate hain: Nabi Jumme ke din ek darakht ya khajoor ke tane ke bagal khade hote the. Phir ek Ansaari aurat ya mard ne kaha, "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Kya hum aapke liye ek mimbar banaye?" Unhone jawab diya, "Agar tum chaho." Isliye unhone unke liye ek mimbar banaya, aur jab Jumma aaya, woh mimbar ki taraf (khutba dene) badhe. Khajoor ka tana bachche ki tarah rone laga! Nabi (mimbar se) utarkar use gale lagaya jabke woh bachche ko chup karane jaisa aawaaz karta raha. Nabi ne kaha, "Woh isliye ro raha tha kyunke usse (jo woh) apne paas se deeni gyaan sunta tha, woh chhut gaya."
