Hadith text

Narrated `Adi bin Hatim:While I was in the city of the Prophet, a man came and complained to him (the Prophet, ) of destitution and poverty. Then another man came and complained of robbery (by highwaymen). The Prophet said, "Adi! Have you been to Al-Hira?" I said, "I haven't been to it, but I was informed about it." He said, "If you should live for a long time, you will certainly see that a lady in a Howdah traveling from Al-Hira will (safely reach Mecca and) perform the Tawaf of the Ka`ba, fearing none but Allah." I said to myself, "What will happen to the robbers of the tribe of Tai who have spread evil throughout the country?" The Prophet (ﷺ) further said, "If you should live long, the treasures of Khosrau will be opened (and taken as spoils)." I asked, "You mean Khosrau, son of Hurmuz?" He said, "Khosrau, son of Hurmuz. And if you should live long, you will see that one will carry a handful of gold or silver and go out looking for a person to accept it from him, but will find none to accept it from him. And any of you, when meeting Allah, will meet Him without needing an interpreter between him and Allah to interpret for him, and Allah will say to him: 'Didn't I send a messenger to teach you?' He will say: 'Yes.' Allah will say: 'Didn't I give you wealth and do you favors?' He will say: 'Yes.' Then he will look to his right and see nothing but Hell, and look to his left and see nothing but Hell." `Adi further said: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a date (to be given in charity) and if you do not find a half date, then with a good pleasant word." `Adi added: (later on) I saw a lady in a Howdah traveling from Al-Hira till she performed the Tawaf of the Ka`ba, fearing none but Allah. And I was one of those who opened (conquered) the treasures of Khosrau, son of Hurmuz. If you should live long, you will see what the Prophet (ﷺ) Abu-l-Qasim had said: 'A person will come out with a handful of gold...etc

Adi bin Hatim bataate hain: Jabke main Nabi ke shehar mein tha, ek shaks aaya aur unse (yaani Nabi se) gareebi ki shikaayat ki. Phir ek doosra shaks aaya aur luteron (raaste par lootne walon) ki shikaayat ki. Nabi ne kaha, "Adi! Kya tum Al-Hira gaye ho?" Maine kaha, "Main wahaan nahi gaya, magar mujhe uske baare mein bataya gaya hai." Unhone kaha, "Agar tum lambe waqt tak zinda rahe, tum zaroor dekhoge ke Howdah (yaani sawari ke jin ke saath baandha hua takht) mein baithi ek mahila Al-Hira se safar karegi (aur surakshit Mecca pahunchegi) aur Ka'ba ka Tawaf karegi, Allah ke siwa kisi se na darte hue." Maine khud se socha, "Tayy qabile ke luteron ka kya hoga jinhone poore desh mein buraee phaila di hai?" Nabi ne aage kaha, "Agar tum lambe waqt tak zinda rahe, Khusrau ke khazanon ke darwaze khole jaenge (aur maal-e-ghanimat ke tor par liye jaenge)." Maine pucha, "Aapka matlab Khusrau, Hurmuz ke bete se hai?" Unhone kaha, "Khusrau, Hurmuz ke bete se. Aur agar tum lambe waqt tak zinda rahe, tum dekhoge ke koi mutthi bhar sona ya chandi lekar niklega yeh dhoondte hue ke koi ise usse le le, magar koi nahi milega jo ise le. Aur tum mein se koi bhi, jab woh Allah se milega, bina kisi anuvaadak ke milega jo unke beech tarjuma kare, aur Allah unse kahega: 'Kya maine tumhare paas ek Rasool nahi bheja tumhe sikhane ke liye?' Woh kahega: 'Haan.' Allah kahega: 'Kya maine tumhe daulat nahi di aur tumpar ehsaan nahi kiye?' Woh kahega: 'Haan.' Phir woh apni dahini taraf dekhega aur Dozakh ke siwa kuch nahi paaega, aur apni baaee taraf dekhega aur Dozakh ke siwa kuch nahi paaega." Adi ne aage kaha: Maine Nabi ko kehte suna, "Apne aap ko Dozakh (ki aag) se bachao, chahe aadhi khajoor (sadqe mein dekar) se hi ho, aur agar aadhi khajoor bhi na mile, to ek achhi aur khushnuma baat se." Adi ne joda: (baad mein) maine ek mahila ko Howdah mein Al-Hira se safar karte dekha jab tak unhone Ka'ba ka Tawaf kiya, Allah ke siwa kisi se na darte hue. Aur main un logon mein se tha jinhone Khusrau, Hurmuz ke bete, ke khazanon ko khola (fatah kiya). Agar tum lambe waqt tak zinda rahe, tum wahi dekhoge jo Nabi Abul-Qasim ne kaha tha: 'Ek shaks mutthi bhar sona lekar nikle...' aadi.
