Sahih al-Bukhari 3606

Hadith text

Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman:The people used to ask Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about good, but I used to ask him about evil for fear that it might overtake me. Once I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We were in ignorance and in evil and Allah has bestowed upon us the present good; will there be any evil after this good?" He said, "Yes." I asked, "Will there be good after that evil?" He said, "Yes, but it would be tained with Dakhan (i.e. Little evil)." I asked, "What will its Dakhan be?" He said, "There will be some people who will lead (people) according to principles other than my tradition. You will see their actions and disapprove of them." I said, "Will there be any evil after that good?" He said, "Yes, there will be some people who will invite others to the doors of Hell, and whoever accepts their invitation to it will be thrown in it (by them)." I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Describe those people to us." He said, "They will belong to us and speak our language" I asked, "What do you order me to do if such a thing should take place in my life?" He said, "Adhere to the group of Muslims and their Chief." I asked, "If there is neither a group (of Muslims) nor a chief (what shall I do)?" He said, "Keep away from all those different sects, even if you had to bite (i.e. eat) the root of a tree, till you meet Allah while you are still in that state

Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman bataate hain: Log Allah ke Rasool se achhaee ke baare mein puchte the, magar main unse buraee ke baare mein puchta tha, is dar se ke woh mujhe apni chapet mein le le. Ek baar maine kaha, "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Hum jahiliyat aur buraee mein the, aur Allah ne humein abhi ki achhaee di hai; kya is achhaee ke baad koi buraee hogi?" Unhone kaha, "Haan." Maine pucha, "Kya us buraee ke baad koi achhaee hogi?" Unhone kaha, "Haan, magar usmein Dakhan (yaani thoda bura) mila hoga." Maine pucha, "Uska Dakhan kya hoga?" Unhone kaha, "Kuch log honge jo (logon ki) agwaee meri sunnat ke ilawa doosri siddhanton ke aadhar par karenge. Tum unke amal dekhoge aur unhe napasand karoge." Maine kaha, "Kya us achhaee ke baad koi buraee hogi?" Unhone kaha, "Haan, kuch log honge jo doosron ko Dozakh ke darwazon ki taraf bulaenge, aur jo bhi unka nimantran qubool karega, use usme phenka jaayega." Maine kaha, "Ya Allah ke Rasool! Humein un logon ka varnan bataiye." Unhone kaha, "Woh humari hi qaum se honge aur humari hi bhaasha bolenge." Maine pucha, "Aap mujhe kya hukum dete hain agar aisa kuch mere jeevankal mein ho jaaye?" Unhone kaha, "Musalmanon ki jamaat aur unke Ameer ke saath jude raho." Maine pucha, "Agar (Musalmanon ki) koi jamaat na ho aur na koi Ameer (to kya karun)?" Unhone kaha, "Un sab alag-alag firqon se door raho, chahe tumhe ped ki jadon ko chuba-chubakar khaana pade, jab tak tum usi haalat mein Allah se milo."
